Adult Coffee Club

Coffee club is a space where Autistic and Neurodiverse adults can connect with each other, foster friendships, and build community while enjoying a favorite beverage and/or snack. Adults are welcome to bring items that make them feel comfortable, can stay as long as they'd like, stim, and parallel play. We ask that participants purchase something from our venues. AuSM will provide a concierge staff to help with questions, check-in, help with ordering, and manage any issues that arise during the club.

Coffee Clubs will be on the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 4pm to 6pm. 
2025 Coffee Club dates. August 12th. Sept 9th. October 14th.  No coffee club on November 11th. Coffee Club meeting will take place on December 9th.

Understanding Autism Virtual Classes are offered by The Autism Society of Minnesota. These classes are perfect for parents, people new to understand what Autism is, and Autistic individuals. Classes will be offered on August 11th, 12-1pm. September 8th, 6-7pm.  Classes are free of charge, but you must register to attend. 

On July 31st beginning at 9am to 12pm, Logan Sand and Ly Baumgardt will present a workshop at The Autism Society of Minnesota entitled Demystifying the "Sex Talk." Autistic individuals and their support systems often feel underequipped to discuss important topics like consent, boundaries, healthy relationships, and socially appropriate behaviors within those relationships. This workshop aims to demystify those topics and provide tangible tools for their discussion.

The Annual Jigsaw Puzzle Competition will take place in person at the Mall of America Huntington Bank Rotunda or virtually on Zoom on Saturday, September 27th, 8:30am to 3:30pm.  Competition groups are filling up quickly, so hurry up and register. 

On October 9th beginning at 9am to 12pm Beth Pitchford will present a workshop at The Autism Society of Minnesota entitled Now and Venn: AUDHD and Overlapping Neurodivergence.  As awareness of Neurodivergence grows, more individuals are being identified as having both Autism and ADHD, a combination often referred to as AuDHD.  This virtual workshop offers in-depth exploration of what it means to be doubly Neurodivergent, focusing on the unique strengths, challenges, and nuances that come with an AuDHD diagnosis. 


Are you a professional who works with Autistic people? Such as a therapist, psychologist, occupational therapist, psychiatrist, social worker, case manager, or health care provider?  Join the AuSM Professional Networking Group to work with the Autism Society of Minnesota's Counseling and Consulting team that offers a resource to help you network with other professionals. Group sessions are held monthly. See AuSM's Event Calendar for more information.  

Autism Certification classes will be offered by The Autism Society of Minnesota. The objectives are understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder and how Autism can affect communication, relationships and behavior.  The class explores the social issues impacting the Autism community and how you can help Autistic people thrive.  The class will help you apply evidence-based practices to support Autistic people experiencing challenges.  Who should participate? Job coaches. Support staff.  Personal Care Attendants (PCAs). EIDBI Tier 3 providers. Educational aids. Direct support personnel.  Group home staff. Day training and habilitation professionals. Anyone who works directly with Autistic individuals. Autistic Individuals.   Each session is limited to 15 participants.  The classes are virtual.  Summer Session will be Fridays August 22, 29, Sept. 5th 9:30am to 12:30pm.

MNeurodivergent is a social club rooted in a vision of bringing Neurodivergent Minnesotans together to build meaningful connections.  Its core principle is to foster an environment where all are treated with dignity and respect regardless of ability or preference.
